Blue Valley Rec is the leader in sports and tournaments in Overland Park. From youth tournaments to adult competitions, teams from the Kansas City Metro area battle regional and national opponents. Tournaments at the Sports Complex brings in and average of $12M in economic impact each year from hotel stays, meals eaten in local restaurants, retail therapy, and more.
Blue Valley Rec partners with local and national sports organizations to bring the very best tournaments to the area for friendly, but fierce competition.
Youth Baseball Tournaments
Tournaments usually last 3-4 days and are USSSA sanctioned with a certain number of games guaranteed before heading into an elimination bracket. Games are played primarily at the Sports Complex on various fields depending on age.
Youth Softball Tournaments
Players experience a supportive culture while playing multiple games in a day throughout their stay. Games are played primarily at the Sports Complex on Fields 18-25.
Youth Basketball Tournaments
Blue Valley Rec hosts a preseason youth basketball tournament to help area teams ease into the season. Games are held at the Rec Center and various Blue Valley School District gyms.
Youth Volleyball Tournaments
This postseason tournament is for Blue Valley Rec teams only and includes a Halloween-themed event. Teams and staff are encouraged to pick and theme and/or costume.
Adult Softball Tournaments
The Sports Complex in Overland Park is home to coed softball and men’s softball tournaments. These one-day tournaments are a great way to enjoy time with friends.

The Sports Complex is a smoke-free facility for the health of us all. Outside food is not allowed in the facility, but you are welcome to tailgate in the parking lot (please clean up after yourself) or visit one of our many concession stands.
The Rec Center does not have space for team meetings, so please plan your meeting for before you enter the facility.
Most tournaments charge an admission fee for spectators and tournament organizers set the admission price.
Pets are not allowed, but we welcome service animals.
Blue Valley Recreation and its partners reserve the right to use all photographs and video of participants for promotional purposes, including print, digital, advertisements, and social media promotions. This includes drone footage.
