Consider pickleball a cross between tennis, table tennis, and badminton. To play, you use a solid paddle to hit a wiffle ball over a low net. You’ll most frequently play pickleball in a doubles format, which helps to minimize running. Playing pickleball in Overland Park delivers a fun experience for both social and competitive players!
Table tennis is a paddle sport derived from tennis, but instead of being played on a court, players hit the ball across a stationary table. Table tennis is commonly played in a singles format, but with a couple of extra friends, you can play a doubles game!
We see a wide variety of skill levels on our pickleball courts. To learn and improve your game, we recommend playing with players at a similar skill level.
When the courts are full, players take turns by stacking paddles, which signals your availability to play and holds your place in line. We play games to 11 points or a 15 minute max time limit, then rotate off so that the next group may play.
If you’re interested in playing pickleball in Overland Park, we have courts available at the Recreation Center during our pickleball. Bring your own paddle and ball. We have pickleballs available for purchase at the front desk should you need them.
