Looking for activities to keep the kids active, entertained, and engaged this summer? Our numerous summer camps in Overland Park provide creative atmospheres for individual growth while challenging kids’ brains in a fun way.
We cover a wide range of interests and activities at Blue Valley Rec. From learning new guitar riffs to programming a video game, a summer camp in Overland Park will have something for every kid!
Art
Enroll your child in an art camp led by local artists and studios, and watch their creativity blossom.
Theater
At a Blue Valley Rec theater camp, every child receives an equal-size part and participates in a show at the end of the session!
STEAM
In these STEAM camps, kids embark on an exhilarating, collaborative mission to have fun, practice problem-solving skills, and solve unique challenges.
Science
Cater to your young scientist’s interests with a science camp about dinosaurs, forensics, aviation, and more!
Robotics
We introduce kids to the wonderful world of robots with a series of robotics camps split up by age and experience levels.
Coding
Create apps, programs, and games through our coding camps at Blue Valley Rec.
Music
Vocals, rock band, guitar riffs, and more! At one of our music camps, campers will expand their musical abilities with the help of professional music staff from Music House.
Board Games and Chess
Keep your camper’s brain sharp over the summer with a board game or chess camp at Blue Valley Rec!
Horseback Riding
At horseback riding camp, campers will get hands-on experiences grooming and riding horses, as well as learn about different barn animals.
We will grant a full refund or transfer for your summer camp in Overland Park, provided you submit your request no later than the Friday prior to the camp’s start date. We will not grant refunds or transfers for requests submitted later.
Blue Valley Recreation and its partners reserve the right to use all photographs and video of participants for promotional purposes, including print, digital, advertisements, and social media promotions. This includes drone footage.
Blue Valley Rec reserves the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment. We will notify participants of any cancellation and will transfer or refund as requested.
If the Blue Valley School district cancels school and/or after-hours activities due to inclement weather, Blue Valley Rec programs held at a school will be canceled. If the program is held in the Activity Center (AC), please check the inclement weather page on our website.
We want all our Blue Valley Rec campers to enjoy their summer camp in Overland Park! Please read the following notices to ensure your camper is prepared.
Participants are not required to attend camp every day; however, each weekly camp is based on a full week commitment, and we do not prorate fees for illness or vacations.
Participants are welcome to bring nut-free lunch and/or snacks they need while at camp. Please send all food and drinks in containers or bottles clearly labeled with the participant’s name.
Check your child’s backpack before camp each day to ensure contents are appropriate for their day’s activities.
Students 12 and younger must be signed in and out of camp by an adult.
We will not send reminders for camp start dates and times, so please mark your calendars.
