The Blue Valley School District Board of Education appointed Jaime Daniel as a new commissioner with the Blue Valley Recreation Commission. Daniel’s four-year term began with the August Commission meeting as she represents the northeast district.
Jaime moved to the Blue Valley area nearly seven years ago and has a passion for promoting active lifestyles as an integral part of family life. Her family enjoys several youth activities throughout the area.
“Jaime’s experience in finance, budgets, and youth activities stood out during the interview process,” said Commission Chair Shane Gardner. “Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she will serve Blue Valley Rec and the residents of our community well.”
A graduate from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing Management, Jaime gained experience as an Executive Buyer for Dillard’s Department Stores. She now dedicates her time to the community and school district.
As an active member of the Sunrise Point Elementary PTO, she was elected to serve as the PTO Board President-Elect for the upcoming school year. The last three years, she served as the organization’s finance coordinator overseeing room budgets and donations.
“I look forward to assisting with strategic initiatives as we make recreation a part of every Blue Valley family,” said Jaime.
Volunteer commissioners have a passion for enriching the lives of residents through recreational activities and sports. The seven-member Board serves as a policy-setting board for the organization and meets monthly. Each commissioner serves on a committee comprised of staff and citizen members from the community. Daniel will serve on the Community Relations, Facilities, & Programming Committee and as a liaison to the Softball Advisory Council.
